Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Mizu Move collects when you use mizumove.com (the "Site"), why, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It should be read alongside our Cookie Policy, which covers cookies and similar technologies specifically.
1. Who we are
[Mizu Move — legal entity name and registered address to be added once incorporated] ("Mizu Move", "we", "us") is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy — the entity that decides why and how it's processed.
2. What personal data we collect
We collect only what we need to plan your move and run the Site. Specifically:
| Data | When we collect it |
|---|---|
| Full name, email address | When you submit the relocation-plan form |
| Moving-from / moving-to locations, approximate move date | When you submit the relocation-plan form or the hero "Check my route" tool |
| Whether you're relocating yourself or a team, and any notes you add | When you submit the relocation-plan form |
| Marketing campaign data (UTM parameters, landing page) | From the link you arrived on — stored locally in your browser only if you've accepted "Functionality" cookies |
| Aggregate usage data (pages viewed, general interactions) | Only if you've accepted "Analytics" cookies — see our Cookie Policy |
| Scheduling details (date/time you book) | If you book a call via the Calendly widget — handled directly by Calendly under its own privacy notice, not stored by us beyond knowing a booking happened |
| Anything you send us directly | If you email hello@mizumove.com instead of using the form |
We do not ask for or knowingly collect government ID numbers, passport or visa details, financial account details, or any special-category data (health, racial or ethnic origin, criminal record, and similar) through the Site. Mizu Move's consultants don't handle visa or immigration paperwork directly — see our FAQ — so we have no reason to collect that kind of information here.
3. How we use your data
- To respond to your relocation-plan request with a consultant's plan and, where we cover your route, mover matches.
- To contact you about your enquiry — by email, or by phone if you've given us a number.
- To match you with a vetted international mover, but only once you've agreed to that specific match — we don't hand your details to a mover without your say-so.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used, so we can improve it — only if you've accepted Analytics cookies.
- To keep basic records of enquiries for our own accounting and business-administration purposes.
We do not use your data to make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you, and we do not sell your personal data.
4. Our legal basis for processing
Where GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Consent — for Analytics and Functionality cookies (see our Cookie Policy), and for any marketing communication beyond directly answering your enquiry.
- Legitimate interests — for responding to a relocation-plan request you've actively submitted to us, which is the core reason the Site exists. We believe this is proportionate and within your reasonable expectations given you initiated contact; you can object at any time (see "Your rights" below).
- Contract — once you agree to proceed with a matched mover, for the steps needed to arrange that.
- Legal obligation — where we're required to keep or disclose records by law.
6. International data transfers
Some of the service providers listed above (including Google and Calendly) may process data outside the country you're in, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers make available for international transfers, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and only use providers who commit to an adequate level of protection for the transferred data.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as we reasonably need it for the purpose it was collected for. As a general guide: enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to respond to your request and, if you proceed, coordinate your move, plus a reasonable period afterward for our own records and legal obligations. If you ask us to delete your data and no legal obligation requires us to keep it, we will.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Ask us to delete your data;
- Restrict or object to how we process your data;
- Receive your data in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent at any time, for anything based on consent (e.g. Analytics/Functionality cookies — see the "Cookie settings" panel in the footer of the homepage);
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email hello@mizumove.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
9. Children's data
The Site is intended for adults arranging their own or their organization's relocation. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and if we learn we've inadvertently done so, we'll delete it.
10. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data — including transmitting the Site over HTTPS and limiting who can access enquiry data to what's needed to respond to it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep risk low.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Site or our data practices change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for significant changes we'll make that clear on the Site before they take effect.
12. Contact us
